Kathy also had fun showing our friend Deb's Havanese to a 3 point win! Imagine a little dog totally covered with the soft hair that's found behind Shelties' ears...that's the coat of a Havanese!

Harbour City Dog Fanciers Fall Show

What an exciting weekend Kathy and Aimee had at the Harbour City Dog Fanciers Fall Show!
They won a Group 1st and Group 2nd and had a great time with friends!

My new favorite picture - with Judge Greg Storms from Ontario. He had SO many complimentary things to say about Aimee and that she was the nicest Sheltie he'd seen all year!

The next day I was thrilled to hear they won Group 1st under Judge Valerie Piltz from Washington. This takes Aimee more than half way to her UKC Championship! 

Kathy, you've done a lovely job with Aimee - thank-you for getting her back in the show ring! :)

Victoria City Kennel Club Show News!

What an exciting weekend it was for us at the Victoria City Kennel Club! This was Teddy's first show, and Aimee's second show weekend with Kathy. Teddy did us proud and was awarded Winners Male and Best Puppy in Breed on Saturday, earning 2 points towards his Championship, handled by our friend Adriana Sisco.

Then it was his Mommy's turn in the ring - moving superbly and showing like a dream with my daughter Kathy, Aimee thrilled us all by winning Winners Female, Best of Winners, Best of Breed over Specials, then ended the day winning Group 2nd for a big 5 point win!

Aimee's puppies are here!

Our Aimee & Koivu puppies are here!  Four beautiful babies arrived on Saturday - 3 boys and 1 girl!  Here's a quick peek in the nursery...

It was hard to get a really sharp photo with the lower light, but it gives you an idea of what the little sweeties look like at 4 days old. They're plump and sassy, and Aimee's such a wonderful Mommy, so attentive and loving - we couldn't ask for anything more!

It snowed!

We were happy to see a snowfall of just over 5 inches this week...loads of fun for us and our furry little ones!

Here on the West Coast we have to get out quickly to enjoy it, because sure enough it'll soon warm up and melt away.

Can you guess which puppy Aimee is?

Congratulations to her sister Maja who finished her Canadian championship in 4 straight days, and under breeder Judge Nancy Tibben. She's now being shown in the US, and won a major right away. Way to go Maja!

Aimee will have some exciting news of her own to share very soon  ;)

The calendar says winter is still a month away, but the frozen soccer ball says otherwise!

Blackberry Buffet

We took the girls out with us while we checked the crop of blackberries for our annual jelly-making pick.

It's the first time Aimee has seen them "on the vine",  though she's been enjoying the odd one as a tasty treat over the summer.

Tasha on the other hand, is an old pro at the delicate task of nibbling the ripe ones off the soft ends while expertly avoiding any thorns.

When she saw Aimee trying to pull some off, she pushed in to show her the ropes... 

 

"Here's how to do it - you put your head under  the leaves - like this - now just get the one at the very end."

 

Here's a close-up of her technique...

Yes, that's one in her teeth and blackberry juice splashed on her face.

They had a not-so-ladylike little feast, and spent the rest of the afternoon on a bit of a sugar high!  

Meet Aimee

We have show news! Our beautiful new addition, Aimee, is making her blog debut in a big way! At her first show weekend with Kathy she won Best of Winners from the Jr. Puppy class for her first 3 points, and went on to win Best Puppy in Breed over Special under Judge Maree McKenzie...

The win was extra special with friends there to cheer them on...way to go girls! You've done a wonderful job training and handling her, Kat.
